Buzz about The Squire Lounge
DoctorRob wrote about The Squire Lounge
Dive right down to the chipped Formica and the ‘colorful’ Colfax street culture rolling by and you’ll suspect this was a bar frequented by Bukowski on a PBR bender. The jukebox is solid, most of the stools don’t have sizeable holes and no one’s disappeared from the men’s room in ages. Still, the shuffleboard is top notch and the drinks are strong as a pitbull’s jaws. Great place to write your memoirs, if only you could find a pen and paper.

Nestled in the no-longer-as-seedy-as-it-once-was neighborhood just North of Cheesman Park on Colfax, the Squire Lounge offers the lingering divebar denizens a tasty mix-up of cheap (really cheap) bar drinks (and big shots) and the atmosphere of what you expect from a bar on Colfax: not much.
