Buzz about Delaney's

I was there with my wife during the St Patrick's Day Parade, and yes it was understandably busy and we expected that, but that's not an excuse for the service we got. We arrived early in the morning and paid the $5/person cover charge, and were told to order food from a waitress. After 40 minutes of being blatantly ignored by the wait staff (even after getting in front of a waitress and asking if we could order and her actually dodging me) I told the manager my problem and he told me not to complain, and when I asked for our cover charge back he said "No way in Hell." Nice place. So we left, went to another nearby Irish bar which was actually busier yet still maintained quality service.
It also smells disgusting in there due to the smoking policy and loopholes. Plan on smelling like an ashtray once you leave.

Hooked up with the Celtic, if you don't know everyones name at the start of the night, you can be damn sure you will by the end. As said in the bar of all bars, Cheers:
"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
