The phone has been "busy" for over 3 years, the website has been down for longer than that. This once inviting and happy place has fallen prey to laziness and ineptitude. I was last at the Snake Pit a year ago, the staff was in a corner having a conversation, had to ask twice for service. There were six customers in the place on Saturday night at 10pm.

The music was over-driven and sounded like hip-hop backbeats, nobody was in the dance room. The bathrooms were filthy and in disrepair. The overall "theme" of the space had given way to pitiful little "art" projects.

I can't even vouch that it is still open these days: no phone, no web site.

Try one of these tips to improve your results:
  • Ensure your search term was spelled correctly.
  • Use a filter, search by neighborhood or drag and zoom the map to check a different part of town.
  • Make your search less specific (e.g. Chinese instead of Kung Pao chicken).
  • Are we missing a venue or event? Add it and let us know what you think.
  • From the outside, this place is rather ramshackle; a place that, were it in Times Square, might not have survived Mayor Rudy Giuliani's purge of dens of disrepute. Well, screw Giuliani and form your own opinion. Inside, you'll stumble upon one of Denver's most fortuitous club scenes. Offering different themes each night, you can get down to disco, electro, jungle, garage or whatever else the DJ is spinning. As opposed to the trendy south of Colfax club district, you can party at Snake Pit in jeans and a t-shirt and still have money left in your pocket the next morning.

    What exactly is 'eh?'

Eh. I don’t feel strongly about it either way. I don’t hate it or love it, I wouldn’t recommend it or dismiss it, it just is.
