Hankering for the worm? Rather than pound back another margarita, let the bartenders at Mezcal take you on a mystic journey through dozens of high-end tequilas from all over Mexico. As varied as scotch, good tequilas vary in flavor and bite and this cantina is well versed in matching a south of the border libation to your palette. If that’s not your cup of agave, they serve up other drinks too, and some of the best chicken mole in town. Many a night I’ve stepped in for the dollar tacos but be warned they are served upscale and sans cheese—but hey what do you want for a buck a piece? Great décor and some of the best people watching on Colfax from their patio.

I had heard about this place but we live south of Denver, so it is too far a drive. However, we were in Denver heading back home and stumbled upon it.
My wife and I were with our young son and decided to stop in for an early dinner. Both the food and service were outstanding!

The waiter was very personable and made us all feel comfortable. He made great menu recommendations and was very attentive.

We'll definitely make another trip back! I can't wait to try the tequilas!

Your search returned no results.
Try one of these tips to improve your results:
  • Ensure your search term was spelled correctly.
  • Use a filter, search by neighborhood or drag and zoom the map to check a different part of town.
  • Make your search less specific (e.g. Chinese instead of Kung Pao chicken).
  • Are we missing a venue or event? Add it and let us know what you think.
  • The ultra-trendy décor, augmented by lots of quasi-Mexican knickknacks, seems to work like a bug zapper works on miller moths in the way it attracts members of the hipster set.  The food is a collection of that stuff that is almost like Mexican food (mango margaritas, goat cheese quesadillas, cilantro black beans, etc.).  The bartenders more than make up for the foods shortcomings, though.  They pour heavy and know many obscure mixes.  And hey, you get $1 tacos every night after 10 p.m.!

    What exactly is 'eh?'

Eh. I don’t feel strongly about it either way. I don’t hate it or love it, I wouldn’t recommend it or dismiss it, it just is.
