The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse stands as a physical cultural link, an architectural tie to ancient Eastern traditions and cultural rites. The ceilings, stools, pillars and ceramic panels were wrought by hand in Boulder's sister city, Tajikistan, in the late '80s and shipped to Boulder piece by piece. The Teahouse's menu reflects a similar cosmopolitan theme, ranging from the Italian panini for $9, the Asian BBQ Pizza at $9.50 and Tajik Plov at $9.25, a Tajiki mixture of beef, onions, carrots and chick peas. Of course, there is also a rambling selection of teas, which comprises oolongs, blacks, herbals and puerhs.
