I have been going to the Detour since moving to Denver in 1995. Although it is geared toward the lesbian community, I have always felt welcomed. While I was sceptical about the move from downtown to west colfax in a business point of view, I was thrilled that it was much closer to my home. The food is always good as are the drinks. Sheila and staff have a way of making one feel at home.

  • They stamp themselves as: A bar for all people, but the majority are lesbians. It’s a fun dive to go have some brewskies at or to shoot some pool. Not only that, they have a killer jukebox selection with all the fabulous queens of rock for options (yes, Madonna!). They also have a menu with your typical ‘bar food’ choices. They love to cater to the gay crowd but welcome everyone to this ultra-fab bar!
