I recently walked into the bakery and found the ambiance to be very cold -- and the service even worse than that. Nobody even acknowledged that I had walked in for a little over 4 minutes (yes, I watched the clock). While I was waiting -- I did get a chance to check out the cupcakes available -- nothing special here. If you're into the "staples", then you'll be happy, but if you're looking for something innovative and new -- you might want to stop at the next cupcake shop. I went into the bakery excited that I had found a new cupcake shop -- left without even a hello -- OR A CUPCAKE!

I have been here multiple times, and even had Lovely Confections provide cupcakes and a wedding cake for my wedding. You have to try the strawberry cupcake. its the best in town.

    Cupcakes on Colfax

  • When you put your all into one thing, it will be the gem that outshines the rocks, and that goes for Cupcakes at this Congress Park Bakery. Lovely Confections Bakery puts the frosting on the cake of the recent Colfax redevelopment plans, or gentrification as some call it. Located at the base of the swanky Chamberlin Heights Condos at Colfax and Steele, it’s the latest of several businesses that have tried their hand at the locale. If catering with exquisite, mostly organic, cupcakes keeps things going, Lovely Confections just might make it. It’s a low key coffee shop too, and while business might not be booming on that end, it’s kind of nice for a quite spot to enjoy coffee, maybe a Carrot-Cup Cake, and tap their free Wi-fi. The bakery is definitely worth looking into for catering corporate events, but especially their package deals for birthdays and showers.
