In search of something new in the Aurora area we came across a listing for The Royal Hilltop. I was a little nervous to try it out since the images available online were far from enticing, however I was pleasantly surprised with the menu, prices and great happy hour specials. The fried pickle spears are certainly something to write home about and the fish and chips were quite delicious. Friends of ours enjoyed their burgers and Shepard's Pie. I appreciated the portion sizes as it was just right, not too big, not too small and I didn't feel like I overdid any fried foods. My better half is a fan of scotch and was impressed with the menu as well as the "Saturday, 16 and under $5 a glass til 6pm" happy hour special. All and all, a great experience and we are looking forward to visiting again.

We generally like the food and service here. It's hard to get better bangers than what you'll find at Royal Hilltop. Decent selection of scotch, a little shy on the Irish whiskeys and beers. Food is well priced and generally decent, even if a little bland at times (yes, bland even compared to other English food.) If you live in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. Service can be subpar when busy (weekend nights).
