The sweeping view off the Front Range Rockies behind the runway is worth a lunch trip. If you like the thrill of flight then checking out the ultra-lites and small passenger planes buzz in and out is cool.

Well when we first walk in the door we were greeted by a hostess who acted as if she was bothered that we were there. Then she sat us and tossed the menu to the table and walked away. The waitress came up and asked what we wanted to drink..I said for now could I just start with water? Looking annoyed she left only to drop off the drinks and say nothing until she returned about ten minutes later. Are you ready to order without a smile yet. At that point I said I need a few more minutes and as she left we decided to go to another eatery at the Airort. What a great chioce we made!!

I was quite shocked to see a hastily created 8.5 x 11" sign on the hostess' stand at the Runway Grill today that stated, in all caps, something about Obama's Universal Health Care covering illegal aliens. The sign then prompted you to take action and call your representatives.

Now I generally prefer my lunch without politics. But I really prefer it without lies. I Googled this claim that Obama wants to cover illegal aliens with Universal Health Care. I found an interview with CBS News where President Obama said he will NOT cover illegal aliens with Universal Health Care -- with one notable exception. All children will be covered because unvaccinated children pose a health risk to all children regardless of their citizenship.

Needless to say, I won't ever eat at the Runway Grill again. This sign was not only stupid and inappropriate -- it was misleading.

    The Runway Grill

  • The Runway Grill at Jeffco Airport combines the thrill of flight and great food all while letting you keep your feet planted firmly on the ground.  Located right off the end of the Jeffco airstrip, the departing traffic never ceases to entertain.  On a clear day the breathtaking view of the mountains stretches uninterrupted from Longs Peak to Pike's Peak.  For something new that is out of the way, make plans to see an impromptu air show from the Runway Grill.
