food very bad go to spot or handle bar for some good food. cant even make a grilled cheese that isnt burned. fries soggy, soup has waxy consistency. also, behave yourself or you will be banned for life. if they made a list of banned customers, you would need an hour to read it. dont expose yourself to this - go where you will be respected, you will also hear very upleasant remarks made to and about women. sometimes staff is verbal abusive about women.

Ogden Street South is hidden away in a quiet residential area surrounded mostly by old Wash Park houses to the south and east and one huge high rise that hovers over the neighborhood to the north. Though it is mostly known for karaoke nights and trivia contests, it opens for breakfast at 10:30 am on weekdays and 8 am on the weekend. Often you will find local patrolmen stopping by for breakfast or lunch, but I make a habit of bringing my laptop and using their free wi-fi to check e-mails and the daily news while I enjoy the smoked pork breakfast burrito on Saturday or Sunday. Weekdays find me ording french toast. The wait help is very pleasant and service is prompt. I usually get in and out in 30-45 minutes, including the time I spend on my computer. Their extremely pleasant outdoor patio is now open for summer dining and the smokers refuge. Though Ogden Street South is mostly a great neighborhood night spot, I highly recommend it to start off the day.

  • If Ogden Street South is, as advertised, Wash Park's best kept secret then someone's got some extremely loose lips. This place is normally packed with uninhibited revelers belting out their favorite karaoke classics and receiving standing ovations no matter how garbled or inharmonic. A college hangout, it's supremely feasible to get plastered here without having to take out any additional student loans. Get their early as tables are hard to come by and the staff can get overwhelmed.
