The cornerstone of any Deadhead’s night on the town—few of the patrons recall the darker days of this Colfax and Clarkson bar. Sure, the adult arcade is still next door, but the bouncer no longer packs a baseball bat and a bulletproof vest. Instead, he’ll smile at you under a grinning portrait of Bob Marley and remind you there is now ‘no smoking’ on the premises. My, how times have changed. If your idea of the ultimate jukebox should contain The Phix, Phish and The Dead, this is your cantina.

Sancho's - Ahh Sancho's. To paraphrase Homer "the cause and solution to all life's problems". Stiff drinks, GREAT music and a 'Cheers' feel to the place.
Lets make no mistake, Sanchos is a dark 4 cornered room. No windows, low lights, nothing bright about the place except the memorabilia that makes Sanchos almost a museum above a drinking bar.
I avoid this place like the plague on weekend nights. The lodo crowd seem to make their way in. Nothing wrong with that, it just puts a different feel to the place. Happy Hour is the best time for Sanchos. 2 for 1 draws from 4-6, smaller crowd and its a place where everyone knows your name.
If you enjoy the music of the Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Widespread Panic, Phish or any of the bands that spurred from these artists, you will love the jukebox. Happy Hour you can actually put money in the jukebox and hear your songs. Weekend nights, unless your sleeping over probably not.
My favorite bar in Denver. Part of a great family of bars including Dulcineas next door, Quixotes, Cervantes and the new Owsleys. If you come in without an elitist attitude and a friendly demeanor, you will be welcomed to the family with open arms.

Your search returned no results.
Try one of these tips to improve your results:
  • Ensure your search term was spelled correctly.
  • Use a filter, search by neighborhood or drag and zoom the map to check a different part of town.
  • Make your search less specific (e.g. Chinese instead of Kung Pao chicken).
  • Are we missing a venue or event? Add it and let us know what you think.
  • For fans of the Grateful Dead or the music scene they engendered, Sancho's Broken Arrow is an authentic Broke-down Palace. The walls are plastered with historic show bills and photographs of rock impresarios and the dial is permanently set to the jamband station. Situated next to the Fillmore Auditorium, Sancho's does serious business before and after shows, but on quiet nights you can shoot pool, play foosball or just kick back and enjoy the tunes. Though scruffy in appearance, this is a dive with a purpose. So drink up and go home (safely.)

Eh. I don’t feel strongly about it either way. I don’t hate it or love it, I wouldn’t recommend it or dismiss it, it just is.
