Buzz about The Corner Office Restaurant & Martini Bar

I went The Corner Office a few times when it first opened and had a couple of good experiences - knowing it was newly opened, I let some of the kinks go. But, now that it has been here about a year, I realized I hadn't been in a long time. I was in for a shock to find that the whole experience was awful! Let's start with the setting - empty, except the bar which had a few people drinking (probably patrons of the hotel it is attached to). The whole place was empty with crappy music playing much too loud for the amount of bodies in there. Next, the service - Awful! The waiter knew little to none about the menu and I felt like we were bothering him (obviously because he had "so many tables"). The manager stopped by during the meal and when I mentioned that I was surprised by the lack of activity in the place, he got completely offended. Then, when I told him about my plate of coldness, he aggressively removed the plate from the table and stormed off. Which brings me to the food - Cold, Late, and so not worth it! Had the food been edible, the price would have been of good value, but I was so unimpressed I could hardly chock down a few bites...even after my food was nuked and brought back to me. By the end of my meal, I realized why the place sat empty. Now, I know I might have just hit them on a bad night, but WOW - what a bad night at the "office" it was. If you are looking for a fun atmosphere, great food, and a fun place to hang out with friends or a significant other - I wouldn't recommend The Corner Office. If you are staying at The Curtis Hotel, it's after hours, and it's all that is available...sorry!

I read a previous negative review and didn’t want to believe it. This restaurant looks great when you walk by it, but it doesn't live up to what one would hope.
One entree--lobster mac & cheese--tasted great but was cold.
The service was terrible from the beginning when we asked to sit on the patio. We were told by the hostess she'd never sat anyone there before and needed someone else to come walk us out there.
Our server did not check back in with us. I never did get the water I requested.
Trust me, I love to dine out and am rarely this critical of restaurants. This is a place to avoid. …Not because it's the world's worst, but because there are so many other great places to eat.

You’ve watched the clock tick down the hours, minutes, seconds, from your high school desk, to your college desk, to your desk at the office. The hands of time take up their collective positions at twelve and five and you take your position as a rush of air that ruffles tomorrow’s reports as you disappear through the door. The Corner Office feels ya, so much so that they’ve made a place perfect for you. Located in the Curtis Hotel, opposite the DCPA. The Corner Office carries on this flair by serving up global comfort food at decent prices and allows clock watchers to grab a real happy hour as the clock strikes five.
