Ok so maybe the mayor (his Hickenlooperness) doesn’t run the day to day operation anymore and even if you didn’t vote Democrat or much care about Lodo development or baseball—they all share a history with this microbrewery. No tour of historic Lodo is really complete without a pint, or a platter of tasters at the house that His Honor built. Don’t fancy an adult beverage? Fear not, the Wynkoop brew their own root beer, sarsaparilla and cream sodas and might just be their best kept secret. Try them on for lunch if you are down town.

I understand if you get slammed, under staffed, whatever as a waiter/ress but TELL YOUR TABLE. Though I do not actually think that was the case for our waitress...she NEVER asked for refills, never checked on us, removed half of dirty plates, new people came and still did not check on us. Once we asked for check, she forgot, had to go find her and ask and she clearlily forgot, then she brought wrong one then left and did not return...come on...do you not want to make money by providing good service?? Someone please remind wait staff to be honest with their tables/stop smoking before shift/ or quit!

I realize food cost is an everyday issue for a chef, but on a recent visit, the Nachos gave become a simple basket of chips with a bowl of somthing resembling bean soup with a little cheese, sour cream and a teaspoon of guac dumped in it. Come on chef...... nachos are nachos the world around. Why would you want to run off business over a change this bizzare? I have begun to see several changes. A pot roast sandwhich one day that was practically lacking ant roast...... get a small bun.... I eat out a lot and there are many chefs out here coping just fine and keeping quality up. I wont go back to eat.

The “Koop” can turn your dinner outing into a crazy long night. Ironically, Edward Wynkoop was Denver’s first sheriff. Today, the historic brewpub brings you some of the best beer around. When you first walk in, you have a few options—turn right you end up in the bar, turn left you’re in the dining area, go upstairs and you end up in the “Koop” with pool, a shuffle table and tasty libations, or go downstairs to Impulse Theater for some excellent comedy shows. The interior wood-lined floors and pillars really bring out the history in the building. Beer buff? Try Patty’s Chile Beer; you can actually smell and taste the jalapeños as you sip away.
Also, word on the street says the fish and chips are some of the best in the town. Wow, Denver’s first sheriff really kicked butt.
