Tied with My Brother's Bar, perhaps -- it's debatable. Deep fried mac 'n cheese wedges (appetiser) are a hangover delight! Fantastic beer selection and kick-*ss Bloody Mary's, too. Atmosphere can be loud and rowdy on weekend nights -- that's not meant to be a negative comment! I love, love, love the Cherry Cricket!

  • A note on the menu says that the Cherry Cricket’s food is “way too good for a bar this fun.” Fun is indeed the operative word here; just take a look at some of the descriptions. Appetizers are “Horzidurvees,” and hot items are designated as “screamin’” or “semi screamin’.” Then you reach the drinks, with vivid names like Mind Eraser, Purple Hooter, Gorilla Tits, Frozen Monk, Surfers on Acid and Transient on Heroin. Although that’s a hard act to follow, the beer menu manages to impress with a large and varied selection, including the hard-to-find Stella Artois and Smithwicks.
