Nine TV alternatives for election night
By Drew Tewksbury, Special to Metromix
Maybe you made it to the polls bright and early. Maybe you squeezed it in on your lunch break. Or perhaps your limo driver dropped you off on your way to your bikini waxer. Regardless, now you'd like to sit back relax and take your mind off your party's landslide victory (or your purchase of a one-way ticket to Canada). And since there’s nothing lamer than watching a blue and red map of the U.S. all night long, here' s a few escapes from election coverage to get you through the Nov. 4 television doldrums.
First up: The Daily Show (Comedy Central)
The Escape: Instead of watching Wolf Blitzer pace around the situation room while the votes roll in, watch John Stewart make snarky comments or funny voices. Or snarky comments in a funny voice. Whatever happens, expect something snarky.
Political Connection: Could possibly be the show’s last broadcast, if Comedy Central is forced to shift to a more pro-America format.
