Snapshot: The Color Purple

The popular musical based on the classic novel written by Alice Walker is playing at the Buell Theatre this month. Presented by Oprah Winfrey, "The Color Purple," is an inspirational story following a woman named Celie who defeats great odds to find happiness in her inner beauty. The musical has won 11 Tony Awards and features gospel, jazz and blues music.
The musical runs Jan.7-18.
