Handlebars, horseshoes and fu-manchu’s, oh my
What was once only a stubble of a dream six years ago, the annual Mustache Festival at the Vesta Dipping Grill is now a blossoming handle bar of a Super Bowl eve party. It all started when Robbie Bowman, a Vesta Dipping Grill server, had the idea for the event after challenging his co-workers to give their best shot at the ‘stache. And here is the result, six years into it.
The 6th annual festival, which not only brought in dozens upon dozens of men AND women sporting the scruff (girls glued or drew theirs on, we hope), but was also a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation, donating 10 percent of the evenings sales to their cause.
Patrons could vote on their favorite ‘staches, or as the night progressed, hourly raffles gave away prizes ranging from a straight razor shave to bottles of wine and burlesque tickets. Anyone sporting a mustache also received a free shot of Stranahan's Whiskey.
