A field guide to Denver's culinary insurgency

Ever since The Denver Cupcake Truck stopped by uninvited (but, we assure you, greatly appreciated) a few weeks back, Metromix has had street food on the brain. While low-overhead carts and trucks are nothing new to the 16th Street Mall and a few other spots around town, the mobile movement picked up a startling amount of speed in the summer of 2010, not unlike a runaway ice cream truck barreling downhill toward your front door.

Since mobile food is by nature a mercurial cuisine, we're piecing together a field guide to street food. This is just the first step in the process, so don't despair if your favorite truck, coach or cart isn't included. Better yet, drop us a line and let us know where to find it, on the web or on the streets. And pictures wouldn't hurt, either...
