Stollen from Rheinlander Bakery
Stollen is essentially fruit cake, but with a feistier name and more alcohol (it is German after all). Rumor has it that Rheinlander bakers use seven pounds of batter and at least 20 pounds of brandy-soaked fruit and wine-drenched raisins to make the sweet, yeasty delicacy. And if you don’t like it, you’ll have a great time heaving the thing at Manitou Springs’ annual January 8th fruit cake toss.
