If you were to judge a population based on the stores that populated their hang-outs, you could deduce that downtown office workers are addicted to coffee, that Cherry Creekers have a strong propensity for $300 scarves and that CU Boulder students need a daily sandwich fix. You thought we were gonna say something else, didn’t you? While the University Hill area is home to a pipe outfitter (for tobacco, of course) and a handful of new-agey, beatnik-y shops, it’s the sandwiches that rule here.

Or, since it’s Boulder, an organic veggie, locally-crafted cheese and sprouted whole-grain bread combination.
Whether you’re heading to Boulder as a freshman or a thirty-something reliving your glory days, you’re gonna need to eat. And in between classes, meditative sessions or drinks at The Sink, what better way to satiate the gnawing in your tummy than a sandwich on the go?
We’ve navigated the menus, tasted the meats and licked up the sauces—all for you, dear reader. And here are the results of the Battle of the Boulder Hill sandwiches...
