Stewed meat, baked grains and roasted vegetables. A typical dinner straight out of '50s America, right? That's what you think. After a string of tasty but a bit too traditional meals, the Metromix culinary squad set out to find something different. And boy, did we find it at House of Kabob, one of the oldest Middle Eastern restaurants in Denver (and probably Colorado). Owner Ashraf Saad took us on a whirlwind tour of the Fertile Crescent that left no doubt that the House of Kabob deserves every last award it has amassed in the past two decades. But have they sacrificed authenticity for popular appeal? The lamb's tongue soup begs to differ. More on that later...
