Denver helps make a difference
Trivia: What is better than sitting down to tasty food at a nice place and giving to a good cause at the same time? Answer: Not much. On Thursday a variety of restaurants across Denver participated in Project Angel Heart’s “Dining out for Life” fundraiser, where restaurants donate 25% of food sales to help those who are battling HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life threatening diseases. Happy faces filled the booths at restaurants like Hapa Sushi and Sake Bar in Cherry Creek, Beatrice and Woodsley off of south Broadway, and Parallel Seventeen off 17th street near uptown. According to Matt Herz, one of the many volunteers collecting donations on top of the proceeds the restaurants provided, “This is Project Angel Heart’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with over hundreds of different restaurants in the Denver area participating.”
