It’s hard to keep kosher in the Rocky Mountains, but the East Side Kosher Deli is here to help. Established in 1997, the East Side features a grocery store, a deli and a small restaurant, all designed to support members of the Jewish community. Matters of faith aside, there are several items that warrant close attention. The dining room, which is closed from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, dishes up Mexican, Italian and Asian dishes along with the Matzoh Ball soup. In the Deli, you’ll find everything from bison pastrami to pickled tongue, along with salads and sandwiches, naturally. Popular choices include the Russian Combo, the Latke Reuben – a corned beef sandwich with latkes standing in for bread, and Shwarma, which combines turkey or lamb with Israeli salad on pita bread.
