Mateo Restaurant Provencal

There’s a reason so many Denverites make the drive up 36 to Boulder, and it isn’t to watch football – it’s for the food.  Restaurants like Frasca, the Kitchen and Mateo have made Pearl Street the culinary capitol of Colorado.  Mateo uses local ingredients for their Provencal-inspired food, so the menu changes with the seasons.  The wine list, like the food, is varied and reasonably priced for the quality (glasses start at $4).  Like any self-respecting Boulder restaurant, Mateo prides itself on its environmental chumminess; they use wind power and recycle everything.
