First at bat: The Frappelicious Frost and Coconut Dream
Now, it's not fair they went first. Even if they don't win the title, we knew we wouldn't find cooler names than these. When asked about the names, Donaldson said, "We're doing a 'Fergie' thing here." Okay, they just won a couple brownie points for being Fergie fans.
At that instance, finding Denver's best iced drink just got a little harder. It is almost like picking out an American Idol—or a caffeinated idol, rather.
The Frappelicious Frost is made with Ghirardelli's chocolate mixed in with espresso, froth milk and whipped cream. "Basically, it is a blended mocha latte," Donaldson stated.
Wow! The Frappelicious Frost tastes like a cracked out caffeinated Yoo-Hoo and gives the Nestle bunny a run for his money. One thing is for sure—if the caffeine isn't what gets you buzzed, the chocolate will do the job for you just fine.
So is the Frappelicious Frost Denver's best iced drink? Not quite. But it gets barred as the "best runner up."
Now onto the Coconut Dream. Which sounds like they aren't just Fergie fans, but also Jimmy Buffett meets Backstreet Boys.
The Coconut Dream is sweet, but not sugar overload to make you feel sick afterward. It consists of coconut and vanilla syrup, two shots of espresso with whipped topping and chocolate sauce.
Is the Coconut Dream Denver's best iced drink? Again, it didn't make the cut. But it will prevent you from dozing off at your after-lunch meeting.
