A Saucey Affair crowns the best sauce in Denver

Okay, Denver. The votes are in and the best sauces in Denver have been chosen. The 9Health Fair teamed up with 18 local Denver restaurants for an evening of sauce tasting, drinking and socializing at the first annual A Saucey Affair at the DU Cable Center.

Two restaurants won for the people’s choice award and the judge’s choice. Judges for the evening included 9NEWS entertainment reporter Kirk Montgomery, KOSI 101.1 personalities, 5280 senior editor Amanda Faison and Metromix producer Erica Boniface.

Now choosing the best sauce is serious business, folks—and should not be underestimated. When you have some of the best restaurants and chefs in Denver competing for the grand title, the pressure gets as intense as the sauce.

Table 6 won over the hearts of the crowd to earn them the people’s choice award and the judges fell in love with the fruity salsa that Jonesy’s Eat Bar created earning them an award for judge’s pick.

But, let’s not lie, all restaurants made it a difficult decision. A big shout out to 1515 Restaurant, Avenue Grill, Beatrice & Woodsley, Black Pearl, Campo de Fiori, Elway’s, Encore, Gelman’s Restaurant & Bar, Great Northern Tavern & Brewery, Opus, Root Down, Snooze, Steuben’s, The Crushery, The Fort and Vesta Dipping Grill for whipping up some amazing sauce and charming tapas to go with!
