Top 40 sensation takes the stage at Denver’s honky tonk hot spot
Uncle Kracker made an appearance at Denver's Grizzly Rose on Friday night to appease all of those who have been singing along to his radio hits for the past couple of years. And if you don’t think you have heard a song by Uncle Kracker, think again. One of radio’s more persistent country-pop-rock artists over the last couple of years first started on the scene with his easy-to-get-stuck-in-your-head song “Follow Me” in 2001. In 2010 Uncle K decided to release an EP that included his song “It’s Good to Be Me” which featured the king of rock with a country vibe, Kid Rock. And it was definitely good to be Uncle Kracker on Friday night, as hundreds packed into the classic country bar just off the highway north of Denver to sing along to all of the radio hits.
Late into the night Uncle Kracker took the stage, and played all the songs everyone was hoping to hear including “Smile”, “Follow Me”, and “It’s Good to Be Me”. he only extra thing the crowd could have wished for was for Kid Rock to make an appearance!
Ty Stone warmed up the crowd, going solo with a guitar and microphone, but seemed to be a crowd-pleaser after he belted out some lyrics from his down home and personal songs. Following him was Frankie Ballard along with his band, who really got the crowd in the mood for dancing. The charming front man led his band through quite a few songs off their record, but also took the time to have a jam session much to the appreciation of the crowd. — Josh Barrett
