Sarah and the Symphony a match made in heaven
Sarah McLachlan joined the Colorado Symphony Sunday night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. As McLachlan's voice echoed in an angelic tone throughout, The rain clouds rolled in, but kept at bay for most of the show.
The sold-out concert melded two types of fans — those who love the symphony and those who love McLachlan. The combination of McLachlan's voice along with the brilliant sound of Colorado’s world-class symphony made for a rather moving Red Rocks experience. With each song McLachlan sang, she gave a little background regarding lyrics or the reasoning for why she wrote the song, making for an intimate experience with the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter.
The Colorado Symphony has teamed up with Red Rocks this summer season to bring fans a great pairing of mainstream music with a world class symphony. Shows in the upcoming calendar include Indina Menzel and Chicago. — Carly Rose Moser, special to Metromix
