September's sexiest dance party sets phasers to 'hot'
Skylab, the Denver Coliseum's annual dance party, landed Saturday night with enough bass to make the neighbors think the falling NASA satellite had crashed down in Colorado.
With headliners including Avicii, Head Hunterz, Dash Berlin and more, the concert created a bizarre juxtaposition between the aging Coliseum and the futuristic architecture and dazzling lasers of the various stage shows. The different stages were likewise remarkably different in sound and style, from the garage-like dubstep room to the impressive main stage.
As usual, the energetic fans rocked costumes ranging from trench coats and Deadmau5 heads to, well, almost nothing. The last time this many Colorado dance fans got together (the three-day Global Dance Festival), the vibe was a little tense. But all seemed to be forgiven at this show. Not a bad way for bass heads to launch the fall season. — Matt Farley, Metromix
