O.A.R. and Brett Dennen light up a fire at Red Rocks Amphitheater
In a perfect representation of how Red Rocks Amphitheater can transform a band, its fans and the all around vibe of a show into a comprehensive musical embodiment, O.A.R. and opener Brett Dennen ROCKED Red Rocks, no pun intended.
O.A.R. is on the cusp of becoming what Dave Matthews Band was 10 years ago, carrying one of the best touring and live performances around.
They clearly enjoyed their time here. As front man Marc Roberge looked out into the sea of fired up fans flowing amidst the towering rocks behind them, he could only smile, look down and shake his head in awe while he took in the bliss.
Later he states, and again with a grin, “Thanks for having us to your part of the world Colorado.”
One could imagine, its no easy feat to open for a band like O.A.R., but Dennen did it with style, cheerfulness and as an underdog. Many fans had no idea who Dennen was, but that made no difference to one the most crowded and upbeat “opening band crowds” I personally have ever seen.
Walking away from Red Rocks is always a mildly, if not, extremely resonating experience, but this show as a whole was truly something special.
