Monolith begins...
The results are in. It would not be possible to have a more quintessential Colorado festival than Monolith. Not only was there a stellar line up of progressive and impressive music on Sept. 14, but the festival also involved lots of exercise. Ascending and descending copious amounts of stairs was de rigueur, but it was worth it to catch indie phenoms such as Foals, John Vanderslice, Blitzen Trapper, Cut Copy, Holy F*ck, Pop Levi, Vampire Weekend and the Presets. A wind advisory couldn’t break spirits, but Mickey Avalon appeared to break a couple hearts. DeVotchKa rapped things up and those lucky enough to be in attendance went home satisfied ready to do it all again the next day.
