Janet fans get up close and personal with the pop legend
Janet Jackson graced the stage at Denver's Wells Fargo Theatre Wednesday night. One of the all-time legends of pop music, sister to the king of pop and one of the best-selling artists in the history of contemporary music, (not to mention actress on the 1980s show "Good Times") Jackson made a special stop in the Mile High City as part of a tour promoting her new album "Number Ones: Up Close and Personal".
The 44-year-old musician, who rarely tours, still looked and performed like she was on top of her game, rocking her chart topping songs the moment she took the stage. Janet looked as though she might have been hitting the gym extra hard to prepare for the tour, as well as sporting a new shorter hair style very reminiscent of Rhianna's. The Wells Fargo theatre was packed and screaming, and fortunately didn't need to wait through a mediocre opener since it was all Janet this evening. She covered much of her musical career in her set, including hits from "Control," "Rhythm Nation", and "All for You." It was a spectacular set for the raging fans, and zero wardrobe malfunctions which made for a perfect night. — Josh Barrett, special to Metromix
