Punk rockers take over Denver for a night
Green Day shook the walls of the Pepsi Center Saturday night as they stormed into Denver. After Franz Ferdinand opened, the capacity crowd exploded as Green Day took the stage and attacked their set. Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told the crowd that Denver feels like a second home for the band, as the crowds they get here rock so hard. And he proved it by going into the crowd to play, bringing a fan onstage to sing with him, and by playing for almost two and a half hours. And the writhing, moshing crowd loved every minute of the high energy the band was putting out. With all the running he was doing, Armstrong must have felt if he had played a game in the Pepsi Center as Green Day took over one of Denver's sports palaces for the night.
