In only its second year, the Epicenter music festival, held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., outside Los Angeles, has already scored one of festival circuit's most intriguing lineups: a mix of hip-hop and hard rock luminaries, led by Eminem, KISS, Blink-182, Big Boi, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Rise Against. Of maybe even greater interest than the headliners? The return of Gavin Rossdale and Bush, making their first live appearance since 2001, and—wait for it—House of Pain, who haven't made the crowd "Jump Around" since 1996.
Photographers weren't allowed to shoot the KISS set, so we had to settle for some makeup-bedecked fans—but hey, at this point, the fans look better than Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley anyway. SoCal faves Papa Roach and Bad Religion drew big crowds, but the festival's main draw was Slim Shady, who was in fine form on hits from "Stan" to "Sing for the Moment" to the more recent "Not Afraid."
