Denverites celebrate an early Valentines Day with some great live music
Local favorites DeVotchKa packed the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver Saturday night. DeVotchKa headlined the bill with Gregory Alan Isakov and Mariachi El Brox opening. The night of music was in place to celebrate an early Valentine's Day and the upcoming release of DevotchKa's new album "100 Lovers," which drops March 1. Fans were given the opportunity to purchase the album early at the show in a super deluxe edition with a DVD and a zoetrope!
The crowd had a lot to celebrate being that it's been about three years since DeVotchKa's last release, "A Mad and Faithful Telling," stimulated hearts and minds. Punky mariachi music and howling vocals swept the crowd away into a night of singing, dancing, and catharsis from any Valentine's woes, past or current. — Mark Broste
