Denver catches a grenade at the 1STBANK Center
Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae filled Denver's The 1STBANK Center to the brim Sunday night with fans of all ages for the Hooligans in Wondaland tour.
Janelle Monae hit the stage first with her signature tuxedo and Elvis Presley hairstyle. As she moved and grooved with her 13-piece orchestra and two dancers. She was constantly in motion bouncing from one end of the stage to the other as an array of imagery flashed on the giant floor to ceiling screen. By the time her set was over the crowd's energy was almost on par with hers.
To help dispense some of that energy, popchips and Metromix gave fans an opportunity to get a snapshot in-front of a costume Bruno Mars backdrop. With props in hand fans were able to act out their desire to be like a Millionaire.
By the time the intermission was over the teen girls were bouncing off the walls waiting for Bruno Mars to appear. The screams echoed throughout the event center as one saw a glimpse of his fedora. He made it clear as day he wanted to make the show a party and did just that. The crowd sang, danced, and even squealed as he took over the stage and made young girls swoon. — Carly-Rose Moser, special to Metromix
