Colorado based chart toppers play to the happiest fans ever in the foothills
There are two things that are true about Big Head Todd and the Monsters: The first is that Todd truly does have a colossal mug, and the second is that Big Head Todd fans are the happiest people in the world. The band lit up the stage on Saturday night to a pile of its adoring fans, and Todd's huge head belted out all of his fans favorite hits from over the years. Folks started off things right in the parking lots before the gig by doing some serious tailgating in prep for the show.
The Bodeans started off the night, with a sound somewhat similar to BHTM, but many fans took their time finding their seats, more interested in taking in the view and the glorious sunset skies with many claiming "We are really here for Big Head Todd." The crowd went clinically nuts when the band rolled into the back part of the stage in a 1970's Scooby Doo style van to make their grand entrance. Fans sang along to all of the bands hits, including the song that is still religiously played on the radio "Bittersweet." The band didn't need much as far as stage frills, focusing on playing as the center piece to the show. There was an intense burst of rain that hit during the early part of the set, but only made fans cheer even louder. It was a very Colorado evening for a very Colorado band.
