Ladybug dies under star’s foot in the AT&T Sessions Studio
“American Idol” winner Kris Allen stopped by the AT&T Sessions Studio at Alice 105.9 before playing at Red Rocks for the first time opening for the Barenaked Ladies. Kris quickly admitted to radioland and the audience of fans in the studio that he didn’t know what Red Rocks Amphitheater was until his trip out here, “I am from Arkansas, so I never knew how awesome it was,” then turned to his BFF and backup singer, Cale Mills, and said, “Pretty cool The Beatles played there before.”
Kris Allen was in the studios to sing four of his singles acoustically at Alice 105.9…but then it happened. All hell broke lose. Cale found a ladybug on his mic and said, “Aren’t they poisonous but their mouths are so small they can’t do harm?” And like Superman, Kris scooped the ladybug onto his mic to continue singing, “I will sing to you little ladybug.”
Oh man, here Kris tries to save the poor ladybug and while he was singing his newest single “The Truth” he didn’t realize the bug fell onto his shoe…where he then stomped the ladybug to its' untimely death.
After the song ended, he was looking for the ladybug when a girl in the studio said, “You stepped on it.” And that’s how the ladybug story ends, folks. Kris ended the acoustic session with “Live Like You Were Dying” and dedicated it to the ladybug.
Random story, yes. But we were pleasantly surprised how amazing Kris sounded in the acoustic studio and how friendly and humble he was even though he quickly shot to fame after winning season 8 of “American Idol.”
Head up to to Red Rocks on July 12 to watch Kris Allen open for the Barenaked Ladies!
