Mtv shouldn't host the VMA's anymore. Plus its not about videos anymore.. It's a popularity contest. Mtv isn't "Music Television" anymore. Sellouts!

Say it with us now: Justin Bieber, Best New Artist
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards weren't quite the mega-event we were all hoping they might be: There was no direct Kanye West/Taylor Swift confrontation, no surprise Lady Gaga performance, no major awards upsets. Still, there were a few memorable touches, starting with the blindingly white carpet in place of the customary red, and ending with the bizarre spectacle of Lady Gaga accepting her umpteenth award of the night, for Video of the Year, from none other than Cher—while wearing a dress made out of meat. (After seeing that, we may never eat flank steak again.)
Here are some highlights from the white carpet and the show: the best and worst dressed, the most memorable performances, and a few appearances by the cast of "Jersey Shore" because—let's face it—why else does anyone still watch MTV these days?
To no one's surprise, Lady Gaga was the evening's big winner, taking home a whopping eight moonmen trophies. Click here for a complete list of 2010 VMA winners.
