New Amerykah Tour: Erykah Badu & The Roots
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
Erykah Badu is coming to Denver! Sweet. We found this pretty humorous actually, on her Web site they have random facts about her. The obvious one that many Badu fans already know, her real name is spelt like "Erica." But the more unknown one is the fact that she used to smoke a lot of marijuana, Snoop Dogg-style. She says she lost her ambition at that point and resorted to drinking. All in all, she is 37-years-old and one of the most successful musicians out there. You better be pumped for this concert and swipe a couple tickets before it's too late.
Panic At The Disco with Motion City Soundtrack & Phantom Planet
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
It is amazing how a group from Las Vegas managed to put themselves together enough to make such good music. All of our accounts in Vegas have been nothing but getting as drunk as bicycles. But somehow, 'tis true, Panic At The Disco is from Vegas. They are on tour for the Honda Civic Tour and making a stop in the D-Town. Just get your tickets now, we took a peek at their lineup and a lot of their shows are already sold out. Beer, tight jeans, shaggy hair--we are getting excited just thinking about it.
Paid Dues Tour: De La Soul with Blackalicious
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
It is true how De La Soul thinks, if you're reading this right now, you probably know enough about this hip hop group that perked your interest to click on it. Tonight at The Fillmore is going to be a blast with all of these well-known hip-hoppers taking the stage and hitting the mic. Not only do we get De La Soul, we get Blackalicious, Sage Francis, Murs and 9th Wonder, Supernatural & Scratch, Kidz in the Hall, Yak Balls, Braille and even B Dolan. Super sweet.
Feist
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
Even though superstar, Feist, was uber thankful to win five Junos, this Indie artist said the best day of her life was when she was on Sesame Street. She did the "1 2 3 4" with the Muppets. That is really exciting. What is even more exciting is the fact that she is coming to the Fillmore this summer. You better act fast and get your tickets now before it is too l late.
Ween
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
So people who own miniature dachshund's must get really excited when Ween comes to town. They probably will even sport their cleverly designed weiner dog shirts that read, "My Weiner Is Huge In Japan," to the show. With a band name like "Ween" they kind of had it coming. Ironically enough the concert is called "an evening with Ween" when actually you get TWO evenings with Ween. Their song, "Baby Bitch" is really inspiring and deep when you listen to what the song is all about. Even if you're not ween-er dog lovers, you're sure going to love this concert. The doors open at 7 p.m., so we'll see you there. Please don't tie your weiner dog up outside. The are not the band's mascots.
Rancid with MXPX, Murphy's Law, I Am Ghost
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
Having been named after a stinky smell, the band Rancid isn't like rotten cheese at all. Sure, our grandpas may think so, but this punk group has a worldwide fan base, which is still growing. Before you know it, the aliens in Mars will know who Rancid is. Also joining the punk kids on stage is MXPX, Murphy's Law and I Am Ghost. Crazy night ahead, that's for sure.
Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos
- Fillmore Auditorium - 1510 Clarkson St. - 17th Avenue / Up Town
If you're needing to here some risky music to start your August off just right, Los Lonely Boys are the prescription you're needing. Don't bother faxing it to Walgreen's, just come rock out with Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos and have some cervezas....eh, life is good, ese. Life is good indeed.
