Nine Inch Nails
May 9, 2009
This spring/summer's so-called "NIN/JA" tour hit the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa recently with compatriots Street Sweeper Social Club in tow. The "NIN" portion of the name comes from industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails, best known for '90s albums like "The Downward Spiral" and frontman Trent Reznor's '00-era fights with the recording industry (and, most recently/hilariously, Chris Cornell). The "JA" stands for Jane's Addiction, the thrice-reunited, Perry Farrell-led, Dave Navarro-anchored alt-rock group that brought the world "Jane Says." Some familiar faces crop up in Street Sweeper Social Club as well, with the band fronted by Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello and the Coup's Boots Riley. Metromix was there and captured all of the on-stage action.
