Herman's Hideaway is the definition for a local venue. They have been known for launching the careers of many big names such as Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Now musician hopefuls will rock on the same stage that Dave Matthews Band, The Fray, 311, Widespread Panic and many others have rocked on. Almost every Wednesday is "Newcomer" night at 7:30 p.m. If the newcomers bring in a big crowd, they just might be asked to perform another night. It is a fun night to be at, because the bands are so happy to be performing that they don't just half-ass the performance. Try and get their early so you can sit at a table in the front by the dance floor and get a "Gin & Tonic" they aren't too shabby.
