Eyes Adrift

Apparently all eyes were adrift in some other direction when this trio of ‘90s alt-rock survivors released their debut album in 2002; it sank without a trace, and to this day many fans of Nirvana, the Meat Puppets and Sublime have no idea that bassist Krist Novoselic, singer/guitarist Curt Kirkwood and drummer Bud Gaugh ever recorded an album together. After Novoselic left the group in 2003, Kirkwood and Gaugh tried again, bringing on bassist Jon Poutney of Orange County cow-punks the Ziggens and guitarist Michael “Mike Stand” Happoldt, with whom Gaugh had played in the Long Beach Dub Allstars. The new lineup released another album under the name Volcano in 2004; it, too, was a flop. Both albums are now out of print.
