New music: in stores and online, June 23

VNV Nation, 'Of Faith, Power and Glory'

One could use any of about 15 genre descriptors in reference to U.K. duo VNV Nation, but the one they helped coin, “futurepop,” might be the most apt after all. That is, of course, if the “future” it conjures is of the industrial-tech dystopia variety. Think dark and heavy, electro and booming, but for this time out (the group’s seventh full-length effort) up the anthemic and epic aspects as well.
