Gregory Alan Isakov is about as pure a balladeer as you're likely to find these days. While the term "singer-songwriter" gets slapped on everyone from John Mayer to Colbie Calliat, Isakov comes on more like a minstrel: He humbly walks on stage, plays a selection of songs as best he can, then walks off, leaving audiences sitting there with their mouths hanging open.
