From teen idol to 'Pirate' king

Although it was filmed in early 2009, "The Rum Diary" arrives in theaters in time to make it Johnny Depp's third major release of 2011. It's Depp's second starring role in an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's work (after "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"), and bringing the story to the screen has been an almost decade-long passion project for the actor.
With the Oct. 28 release of "Rum Diary" and his latest "Pirates" adventure now available on DVD and Blu-ray, we're taking a look back at Depp's numerous iconic screen roles.
