'(500) Days of Summer' review

I think my enjoyment of (500) Days would have been enhanced if I'd visited Lacuna beforehand and erased the memory of Eternal Sunshine.

I think a big part of the movie-going experience is your overall expectation of a movie compared to what you actually get. I probably would have loved this movie if I didn't expect so much of it. It was good. But definitely not great. All those tight shots of Joseph Gordon-Levitt did make me realize he looks exactly like Heath Ledger now. Very odd. Maybe he could be the next Joker if he beefed up a little bit?

Sounds good! I loved her in "Flakes" and I am eager to see the actor's performance as well as the music video director's feature film debut.

This movie is right up my alley. It was 100% targeted for a person just like me - but I have to say that I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I had hoped. Maybe I set my expectations too high - or maybe I was in a bad mood or something - but overall it fell flat. As far as the Garden State and Juno comparison - both of those movies are tons better. Garden State is smarter and wittier and Juno was a million times funnier. The movie was artistic, had laugh out loud moments and took a fresh approach to a love story. But it is REALLY slow. At the end I felt like nothing really happened. Both of the lead actors were great, the sound track was great and some of the ideas were great but I give this film a 2 out of five. If you are interested in this movie - I would recommend Away We Go. I thought it was in the same genre but a better movie overall.

fantasic movie. Fox Searchlight has given a series of winners lately.

I am dying to see this, what did everyone think? So far I'm hearing its Garden State meets Juno which is totally great by me :)
