They tried for years, but it always seemed that “Watchmen”—the pioneering graphic novel by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons—was too complicated to be made into a movie. And yet not only is the dark superhero saga coming to a theater near you on March 6, but it’s also coming to your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC beginning March 4.
“Watchmen: The End is Nigh”—conceived as a prequel to the movie—is an old school beat-’em-up in the vein of “Double Dragon,” with updated graphics and more fighting moves. The release will come via digital download installments from Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Store and watchmenvideogame.com. Check it out in the following gallery. —Paul Semel, Special to Metromix
