rcdesigner1 wrote about Swanky's
To all who hear that Swanky's bar is a great place to visit if you are a Packer fan I would like to warn you about the stupid rule they have deceided to enforce recently. Being from Wisconsin and having gone to Swanky's many times I rounded up a group of friends to head down for the big Vikings vs Packer game on Nov. 1. I was turned away at the door by a snotty young kid who said that because I was wearing a Brett Farve jersey with an X through it that I was not allowed in. No Farve Jerseys are allowed because of the owner not liking him!! Are you kidding me. I had a huge X with blue painters tape and I was supporting the fact that I didn't like him either and I was turned away. I stood in front watching as more and more people who had taped off their jerseys were denied entrance into the bar. The FUNNY part is they let people with Vikings Jerseys into the bar. I think that is SO STUPID to deny someone who is SUPPORTING your cause of not liking Brett Farve but allowing people in of the opposite team who don't suport your dislike of Brett. What a stupid thing to do.... I will NEVER go back to Swanky's again and nor will any of my many friends/family from Wisconsin that live here after they heard how I was treated at the door. They snotty kid told me to not take it personally and just walk away! That owner really needs to think about what he is doing with his stupid rules!

The Old Blinking Light Is a hip, trendy, cozy, comfortable dining emporium for guests of all ages. The atmosphere pulsates with a positive attitude. The food delivers with passionate flavors assembled into colorful dishes that are not disguised by flamboyance. Also, they have an attractive wine list both, in quality and price. Service is refreshingly polished and refined. In an area that is developing to be bound by chain restaurants and hopefully not gagged by chain restaurants, the OBL has the potential to be one of Denver's really great independent restaurants. It can hold its own anywhere.

Mona, all of your tips are perfect! Now you just need to school me on different ways to tie a scarf since I'm stuck in a rut. THANKS! Rebecca

Wow we came to Steamboat to ski with friends and found this wonderful experience along the way. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was just what a Western town like Steamboat is! The owners treated us like family. This is so much fun and a treat for young and old alike. A must while you are there.

PowderBlues wrote about Slattery's Irish Pub
I've been to Slattery's many many times since it opened about a year ago due to its close proximity to my work. The food is decent enough. I like the chicken ceasar wrap and open face turkey sandwich. A number of flat screen tv's adorn the walls with either sports or CNBC playing. However, using the word "PUB" in its name is a bit of bait and switch. The crowd is typically quite a bit older and often on the stuck-up side. It is in Greenwood Village after all, and everything in the Landmark area is meant to be upper-end. The staff is generally slow and beers/drinks are always slow to arrive. As a result they don't accomodate happy hours very well, but do have BOGO drinks til 6pm (kinda short happy hour). I've also had instances where the staff (managers) have been very rude. Currently the place benefits from being really the only "bar" in that Landmark area, getting the local workplaces and people going to Comedy Works or the movie theatre.

We used to like this place alot but as we became usual customers we were appalled by the treatment we received from the staff and their arrogant teenage sons. We are never going to eat at this place after today aside from the rude treatment we have found two pubic hairs, (not head hair) in two different dishes we ordered. I suggest if you like rude treatment, hair in your food, and unsanitary conditions this is the place for you.

City of the dead was awesome!!!!!!!!! The attention to detail was amazing best I have ever seen. Also the story and realistic quality was superb. Even though you are inside for the haunt truly feels as if you travel throughout a city. Easy to get to and the line is indoors, you can even get a beer when waiting in line!!!

This is a great spot to get the best of both worlds, you can enjoy a great lunch with family, friends, co-workers, filling up with the best deli sandwhiches and to die for deserts during the day, and in the evening enjoy a wonderful big band with wine and the best pasta and bread imaginable!
