13th Door - Scariest House in Denver
By HauntedCritic, October 7, 2010

Overall rating:
5

I have made it a point to got to this haunt each year just to see if they can still scare me. I have yet to be disappointed. From the time you pull into the parking lot until you run screaming from the haunt being chased by the Chainsaw you know that this is no ordinary haunted house. I know why they were voted on of the 13 best Haunted Houses in America. The 13th Door delivers scares, heart-stopping moments and actors that take their jobs very seriously. Put this on your 'must-see' list.

Scary Legend lives at the 13th Door

First when we arrived at the 13th Door, there was this big guy with a chainsaw who came over to us and just stood there and smiled. Forget 'personal space' issues' he just stood there. He was so creepy and didn't say a word. Then after we bought our tickets, he followed us to the line and just kept invading my space. Finally when we were about to go in he reved up the chainsaw and got this evil look on his face. Needless to say, the mood was set and we were already freaked out.
Once inside, we heard the legend of the 13th Door and got to experience first hand all the evil deeds of Barrington - his nephew - I don't remember his name. There were so many twists and turns - scares tp the side of us, scares in front of us, scares from above. By the time we were done we were exhausted. It was an incredible experience and we had the best time. Well worth the time and money. Oh yeah, as we left, guess who was waiting for us. Still smiling that evil smile.

The Legend of the 13th Door really is true!

Year after year, this is the scariest haunted house in Denver. As soon as you get into the haunted house, they have this room where they tell you about the haunted house and then out of no where, this horrific ghost looking guy flys into the room. Two people from my group stopped right there and screamed for someone to come get them out. I have to admit, I was pretty scared too, but I kept going. After going down the hall in the hotel, I tried several doors and the unlocked one lead me to room that literally spun around me. I was so disoriented that when I got out of the room, there were bugs that looked like they were actually crawling out of the walls. It was one terrifying thing after another for 20 minutes.

I am also going to go to Slaughterhouse Gulch this year. It was created by the same people who created the 13th Door and it was rated #1 in the Rocky Mountain News last year.
